Capital City Mulligan Band Practice
Mar 9 @ 8:00 am – 12:00 pm

The CCMB is directed by Jim Perkins whom many of you will know as the former director of the Borah High School Band. These musicians LOVE playing music and you will leave their concerts with a smile on your face. Contact them if you are interested in playing with them!

The CCMB is named for a golfing term–“mulligan”. A “mulligan” is a golf term meaning a “do-over.” The Mulligan Band is for former musicians who would once again like to play their instruments in a band. The musicians in the band range from 18-80 years old. For more info,  visit their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/capitalcitymulliganband/

Lenten Bible Study
Mar 10 @ 9:30 am – 10:30 am

Join us for this special Lenten Bible Study in the Love Room. Our Lenten Bible Study this year will be a book/Bible study based on N.T. Wright’s book, SIMPLY JESUS: a New Vision of Who He Was, What He Did, and Why He Matters.

In this course, Simply Jesus, students will be immersed in the 1st Century A.D. context of the life, work, teachings, and actions of Jesus of Nazareth. The goal of the course is to look at the story of Jesus from the perspective of a historian. Too many times Jesus of Nazareth becomes interpreted as simply another ‘religious figure’ among many religious figures. But this so often eliminates the understanding of a man who lived in time and space at a critical time of history.

This course is meant for all audiences. No previous theological study is required or expected. In this way, it is meant to give a basic understanding of Jesus as a figure in history primarily.

Please let the office know if you’d like to participate so that we can be sure to order enough books for everyone.
